The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a key Government Commercial Semi-State Body that delivers social and affordable housing on State and other lands. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €3.75 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn

The LDA has commenced construction on various state sourced lands and is currently working on about 20 direct delivery projects that can deliver over 8,000 homes. It is also delivering affordable housing by working with private sector on an initiative called ‘Project Tosaigh’, which will yield a further 5,000 homes on land provided by housebuilders.

Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.

The Role

Reporting to the Public Affairs/HR Lead, the Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for driving the LDA’s internal communications strategy, ensuing that colleagues can easily access, and be kept up to date on projects and events happening within the organisation.

The role will include overseeing the information sharing platform as well as developing and coordinating key messaging and engagement plans. This is a great opportunity to work in a new agency, using your creativity and initiative to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal communications processes, while building relationships across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Driving a strong and inclusive internal communications strategy incorporating and promoting LDA values
  • Developing and managing employee communication channels to keep colleagues updated and informed of latest developments
  • Writing and editing content for a diverse audience
  • Plan and coordinate regular community events to improve knowledge sharing and encourage cross-team collaboration
  • Support the EMT to increase employee engagement and activity
  • Partner with the HR team to deliver continuous improvement initiatives as our organisational capabilities and capacity expand
  • Collect and analyse internal communications data to evaluate and improve the communications and engagement plan
  • Lead the internal communication response to situations which may affect the agency’s perception and brand

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience working as part of an internal comms team
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented with a creative flair
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent content creation skills
  • Experience in managing multiple communications channels, including social media
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment and can establish and manage complex and diverse relationships
  • Exercise sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, and professionalism
  • Demonstrate a positive "can-do" attitude, maintain confidentiality, and be an effective team player
