About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Professional Development & Research Manager to lead the planning, development, and management of professional training and educational programmes for Ireland’s public relations and communications professionals.Reporting to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in executing our 2024-2029 strategy, ensuring our offerings are innovative, impactful, and responsive to members’ evolving needs.
This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the professional growth of individuals in the public and private sectors while collaborating with leading experts and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovate and Enhance: Develop and manage high-quality training and education programmes in various formats (in-person, virtual, and hybrid).
- Collaborate for Success: Partner with our instructors, facilitators, lecturers, and guest speakers to create engaging and impactful learning experiences.
- Lead with Excellence: Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure every programme meets high standards and remains cost-effective.
- Engage and Evaluate: Regularly assess programme outcomes and adapt offerings based on member feedback and emerging trends.
- Organise and Manage: Manage ongoing series of professional development events for members/non-members.
- Research: Manage our research programme, on the sector and our membership.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven experience in programme coordination, professional development, or training, ideally within communications or related industries.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple programmes simultaneously.
- Knowledge of research principles and survey design and analysis.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design best practices desirable.
- Experience in e-learning platforms and learning management systems (LMS) desirable.

Desirable Qualifications and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree/Masters in communications, public relations, education, CPD, Instructional Design or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in professional development, education, training, or programme management, ideally within communications or a similar industry.
