AIB Press Photographers Association of Ireland Awards winners announced
This year the Public Relations category was introduced, and our CEO, Martina Byrne, was invited to present the trophy to the Public Relations category award winner, Dan Sheridan of Inpho Photography for a fabulous sports shot.
Second place in the category went to Andres Poveda, Andres Poveda Photography.
And third place went to Keith Wiseman, Freelance.
James Crombie from Inpho Photography took home the overall AIB Press Photographer of the Year award, presented by Minister Jack Chambers.
The awards, now in their 47th year, recognised excellence in 11 categories, including News, Daily Life & People, Sports Action, Sports Feature, Portrait, Nature & the Environment, Politics, Arts & Entertainment, Reportage, Multimedia, and the newly introduced Public Relations category.
The ceremony, hosted by broadcaster Miriam O'Callaghan and organised by Press Photographers Ireland CLG and Crotty Communications took place at UCD O'Reilly Hall.
A collection of 110 images that tell the story of 2024 in pictures will be showcased in a touring exhibition, starting at dlr LexIcon, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, from 12 March, before travelling nationwide.
