Jubilee of Communication: A story is the shortest distance between people
This special event took place at the historic Basilica of St. John Lateran and was dedicated to the art of communication, coinciding with the feast of St. Francis de Sales, the patron saint of journalists and writers.
The Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication highlighted the importance of the theme, stating, "Communication is the drive that moves each of us to believe that the things we tell, through any means – writing, words, images – reach somewhere to build a relationship with those who read, listen, and watch."
Pope Francis has frequently emphasised the power of good communication and the need to share messages of hope. He encourages communication professionals to undertake a three-part mission: to make people feel less lonely, give voice to the voiceless, and educate themselves to communicate truthfully.
