PRII Fellowship Recipients 2024 announced

The PRII 2024 Fellowships were presented on Thursday, 5 December at a celebratory reception. This year, the honorees are Sharon Murphy, FPRII, CEO of Wilson Hartnell, and Eoin Kennedy, FPRII, Content Strategist at Novartis.

The PRII Fellowship is awarded in recognition of exceptional skill and dedication to the development of the public relations profession and the goals of the Institute.

Sharon Murphy (pictured) has over two decades of experience in driving strategic and creative success, for high-profile clients. As a strong advocate for the power of public relations, Sharon has played a pivotal role in Wilson Hartnell's leadership, spearheading consistent growth and solidifying the agency's position as a market leader. As a dedicated supporter and member of PRII, she has actively championed initiatives such as the Awards for Excellence in PR and has contributed to the PRII National Conference. She is also involved with a number of industry bodies promoting the integration of public relations within the marketing sector.

Eoin Kennedy (pictured) is a senior strategic leader in public relations and communications, with extensive experience advising multinational clients such as Microsoft and Allianz. In his current role, Eoin leads initiatives that align with the global communication goals of Novartis. He has previously served on the PRII National Council and as Chair of the PRII Education Sub-Committee, helping to develop the Institute’s Continuous Professional Development strategy. Eoin has also been a member of the judging panel for the Awards for Excellence in PR.

The newly elected PRII President, Paul Hand, MPRII, Senior Press Officer, ESB, presented the fellowships.

The PRII Fellowship Sub-Committee and National Council approve the recipients each year. This year’s Fellowship Committee is led by Ita Gibney, FPRII (Life), and includes Brian Nolan, FPRII, Global Head of External Communications & Strategic Projects at Sanofi; Bernard Harbor, FPRII (Life); and Dr Karl Anderson, National Council Member.
